Mission: Triple planetary crisis

The triple planetary crisis of climate change, biodiversity loss and pollution is an existential threat to humanity.

42%
To keep warming below 1.5°C, greenhouse gas emissions must fall by 42% by 2030. Yet current national policies set the world on track for warming of nearly 3°C.

Around 3.6 billion people live in areas highly susceptible to climate change and every year, 21.5 million people are displaced by climate change-related disasters.

Through this mission, we are committed to helping address the interconnected challenges of climate change, biodiversity loss and pollution, prioritizing the well-being of the most vulnerable.

Leveraging our expertise in infrastructure, procurement and project management, we help build local capacity, foster regional and global collaboration, and champion sustainable practices. These efforts are rooted in ecological and just transition principles, empowering countries to reach their sustainability targets and build a more equitable future where environmental progress benefits everyone.

How we support

We help address the interconnected challenges of climate change, biodiversity loss and pollution through resilient infrastructure, sustainable procurement and strategic partnerships. We empower countries to achieve their environmental goals by delivering practical solutions that build resilience, protect biodiversity and reduce pollution.

  • Building sustainable infrastructure

We plan, design and implement sustainable, resilient and inclusive infrastructure, integrating low-carbon and climate-resilient approaches, with an emphasis on building local capacity.

  • Fostering strategic partnerships

We collaborate with governments, the UN family, civil society, academia, and the private sector to develop and implement multi-stakeholder solutions to address climate change, biodiversity loss and pollution.

    Driving sustainable procurement

We implement transparent and sustainable procurement practices, integrating environmental and social criteria and promoting innovative, low-carbon solutions through supplier engagement.

  • Providing technical and management expertise

We offer technical expertise, programme and fund management, and grant administration to governments and other entities to address climate, biodiversity and pollution challenges.

  • Delivering tailored, country-driven solutions

We work with governments on long-term planning and capacity building, delivering sector-specific solutions like climate-smart irrigation, nature-based coastal protection and waste management solutions.
